Target employees in Houston said it was like a Black Friday as Missoni for Target went on sale Tuesday morning. One shopper even said they were sold out of everything by 10 a.m. and she witnessed shoppers bartering items from their full baskets.
Us Weekly reported that the New York pop-up store completely sold out in two days, putting the 400-piece collection including apparel, accessories, and housewares, in high demand.
The store's latest designer collaboration was so popular across the nation that customers clamoring for the new items crashed Target servers early Tuesday morning.
It wasn't that intense in Amarillo, according to store employees, but it was more busy than usual.
Executive Team Leader for Logistics, Cari Truelove, said there were people waiting to get in when the store opened at 8 a.m., and most of the home décor items are sold out and the apparel and accessories are going fast.
Another Target employee told Pronews 7 that it was mainly younger women shopping for the items, and that it was almost like a sorority house as they pleasantly exchanged sizes, but she did have to guard a few baskets of those who were in the dressing room from other shoppers.
Truelove said there is another truck of merchandise coming in Wednesday morning, but she is not sure how much of the Missoni for Target products will be on that truck.
