AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo man is now in custody after police say he stole beer from a convenience store and customers chased him down and carried him back to the store.

According to Amarillo Police, Zachary Cole Parker, 19, of Amarillo grabbed a 15-pack of beer without paying for it and ran out the door of the Toot-N-Totum at 45th and Bell.

A customer observed the theft and began to run after Parker. He was caught in the parking lot and as a second customer arrived to help, the suspect took off again.

Parker was eventually caught again and was carried back to the store until police arrived.

He was booked into the Randall County Jail on a charge of theft under $50 and public intoxication.
