CARSON COUNTY, TEXAS -- More than $79,000 was seized inside a car's mufflers Saturday afternoon on Interstate 40 in Carson County.
Texas Department of Public Safety said Troopers stopped a 2004 Nissan Altima Saturday afternoon just after 2. The car was traveling westbound on I-40, eight miles east of Conway.
Consent to search the vehicle was granted and $79,480 was found concealed inside the car's muffler.
Pedro Diaz and Yanira Preciado, both of Fullterton, Calif., were booked into the Carson County Jail on money laundering charges.
