AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Texas Comptroller Susan Combs paid a visit to Amarillo College Wednesday to present A.C. officials with a $100,000 J.E.T. Grant.

J.E.T. stands for "Jobs and Education for Texans" and will help train students for jobs in sonography.

The grant money, along with matching funds from B.S.A. and Northwest Texas Hospital, will help equip Amarillo College's new sonography department with two new sonogram machines, which use sound waves to perform a non-invasive examination.
