Amazon has joined the race for the best tablet on the market and looks to go head to head with the iPad.
Wednesday Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced the launching of their new Kindle Fire tablet, while it seems every tech manufacturer has released some sort of tablet, the iPad remains the bestseller on the market.
But what can the Kindle Fire offer that the iPad can't?
The Fire will only cost $199 and the iPad starts at $499.
The 14.6-ounce Fire has a fast dual-core processor and a protective 7-inch Gorilla Glass display capable of showing off 16 million colors.
There's a carousel interface that shows off movies, TV shows, books, magazines, music and other content that Amazon will be selling.
According to USA Today: One reason that some companies have not succeeded in the marketplace is "because they built tablets instead of services," Bezos said in an interview following the press conference. "The hardware tablet is (only) a piece of that service. The end-to-end service is what customers really want, the deep integration with all of Amazon's media."
The new Amazon Fire Tablet ships out on November 15.
Only time will tell which if this new tablet will be able to measure up to the Goliath of tablets, the iPad.
