An Amarillo man was killed late Sunday afternoon in a single-motorcycle crash, DPS said.
According to Troopers, 60-year-old Steven Douglas Vaught of Amarillo was driving on FM 1258 near County Road 9 in a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle just after 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
That’s when DPS said Vaught failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and veered off into the ditch. His motorcycle then overturned.
Vaught was pronounced dead on scene. DPS said he was not wearing a helmet.
