The punishment phase is now underway for Jimenez, District Attorney Randall Sims said.

The state put on priors and the defendant was called upon by the defense. Jimenez said he was not guilty of the murder and that he knew who did it, Sims said.

According to Sims, Jimenez did not disclose the specific information because no one agreed to cut time off the felony sentence.

The judge accessed his punishment at 25 years in a state jail.

A man has been guilty of a 1990 cold case murder by a Potter County Grand Jury.

According to 47th District Attorney Randall Sims, 47-year-old Anthony Paul Jimenez was found guilty Tuesday afternoon of the 1990 murder of Clarence Smith.

The case was classified as a reopened cold case from July 22, 1990.

Sims said the jury reached a verdict in less than two hours. The state put on several witnesses while the defense rested without calling on any witnesses.

Jimenez now faces five to 99 years in prison or life in prison. He also faces a fine, not to exceed $10,000.
