An Amarillo man was killed early Wednesday morning in a motorcycle wreck as he ran a red light, police said.

Chas Chapman, 23, was driving east bound on Amarillo Boulevard approaching N. Buchanan Street in a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle. According to Amarillo Police, he ran a red light at the intersection.

Chapman struck a 1987 Chevy Caprice, police said. He was then vaulted off his bike and onto a third vehicle/

The drivers of the two vehicles were not injured.

Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy was ordered.

Police said speed is believed to be a factor in the collision. The wreck remains under investigation.
