AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Highland Park Elementary will celebrate Red Ribbon Week this year with a different theme each day, each to teach kids to say no to drugs.
The kids are taught how Red Ribbon Week came about, and the number of different ways to say "No" to drugs, strangers, and weapons.
There will also be a number of contests to keep the kids motivated to just say no.
"I'm hoping that they do learn from this and they remember because we talk about what drugs do to you, a lot of times drug education is being pushed to the side especially with the cuts in education," said Highland Park Elementary PE Teacher, Terry Brax.
The contest will include a rap competition, an essay competition, or an art competition, all with the say no to drugs theme.
Brax says the categories give each student a different avenue to learn.
