A Crime Stoppers tip helped police nab the suspect from a Sunday night convenience store robbery.

Manuel Rene Cruz, 31, of Amarillo was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery on Thursday. He was detained at his home in the 3000 block of Walnut without incident.

It was just after 10:35 Sunday night when police said a Hispanic male in his early 20s entered the Toot'n Totum in the 3100 block of Plains Blvd. According to police, he was carrying a handgun and ordered the clerk to give him an undetermined amount of cash.

Cruz was caught because of a tip from Crime Stoppers. He was identified as the suspect.
