Here's what you can expect this coming week as far as road closures go.
The City of Amarillo Utilities Division will start a sanitary sewer mains rehab project in the area of S.W. 34th and Interstate 27 on Sunday, November 6, 2011.
Traffic will be reduced down to one lane along the North bound frontage road of I-27 from 30th Avenue to 34th Avenue and is scheduled to be opened Saturday, November 12, 2011.
This work is part of a project to pipeburst new sanitary sewers in the Oliver-Eakle area. Contractors will be replacing the sanitary sewer mains and reconnecting service lines.
The street repairs will be made as soon as possible to reopen the street.
Motorists are asked to drive carefully through the construction area.
Here are more closures from TxDOT:
- On the I-40 and Loop 335 (Lakeside) frontage roads, expect continued lane closures in both directions at that intersection for concrete patching.
- On the I-40 and Whitaker frontage roads, expect continued lane closures in both directions at that intersection for concrete patching.
- On SE Loop 335 (Lakeside), expect lane closures in both directions from IH-40 to Whitaker for patching.
- On I-40, expect lane closures in both directions from the US 287 split to the Carson County line for fog sealing.
- On the 34th Street oerpass over I-27, expect continued lane closures eastbound for patching.
- On Grand Street, the northbound lanes on the east-side of the roadway are closed for construction of the new overpass. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction on the two west-side lanes from about ½ mile south of 3rd Street to about ½ mile north of 3rd Street. This lane closure will be in effect until the project ends by March, 2012.
