AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Christmas was on the minds of the Salvation Army, Pura Vida Car Club and West Texas Low Rider Association Sunday. That's because Sunday was the club's Second Ever Angel Tree Toy Cruise.
Motorcycles and classic cars galore left Alamo Park Sunday afternoon and "cruised" with Christmas spirit to the Salvation Army Harrington Hope Center. Participants were encouraged to bring toys for the Toy Cruise, in honor of the official kick off of the Angel Tree giving season. Major Tim Grider with the Salvation Army says this season they're seeing another record breaking year for those in need.
"They do a drop off on the toys and then they'll also come here in spirit themselves just supporting us, the Salvation Army and what we do with our Angel Tree program," said Major Grider. "They've done a couple things for us throughout the years as well the past year. We're very appreciative of that."
Major Grider says they'll need more people than ever to adopt an angel this year from their tree. The Angel Tree will be set up at Westgate Mall in Amarillo starting November 18th.
