CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - Two Clovis men are facing felony charges for allegedly stealing copper wire from Curry County farmers. Authorities say the men are facing charges of larceny after more than $19,000 in copper wire was stolen at farms from across Curry County. The thefts began in June.
The men are suspected in at least six thefts. The Clovis News Journal reports the wire was stripped from agricultural irrigation sprinklers and sold to metal recycling businesses.
