AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The man who police say struck and killed an Amarillo truck driver in September is now facing a charge of criminally negligent homicide.
Willie Edward Adams, 28, is charged with criminally negligent homicide for the death of Rudolfo Telles, 67, on Sept. 13, police said. He was arrested by the Potter County Sheriff's Office Monday morning.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sept. 3, Adams was driving southbound in the area of 100 S. Lakeside Drive when he lost control. That's when he struck Telles and 50-year-old Jimmy Soliz, police said.
Telles was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, Telles was standing outside a grain truck in the center turning lane. Two trucks were in the center lane waiting their turn to pull into the grain elevator when Adams lost control.
