AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Parents and toddlers packed into the amarillo college concert hall theatre this evening to see Parents Choice Gold award winning PBS KIDS sensation "Mr. Steve".
The free event was kicked off by Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole.
He read a book to the kids and talked about the importance of reading to your little ones.
Then it was Mr. Steve's turn to take the stage, and while he says making his videos is fun, it's much more satisfying to interact with the kids and see the reactions on their faces.
"It's pretty cool to go to different cities, small towns, big cities and to realize that while there are lots of different places in the country, kids are so much the same. Each one is special and unique, but there's a common bond."
Mr. Steve's next stop will be Oakland, California where he will take part in a children's holiday parade.
