AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo VA Health Care System hosted their fifth annual, Welcome Home Celebration, honoring area veterans and their families, including those who have served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The free cookout featured live entertainment from the Buster Bledsoe Band, as well as a bounce house, rock climbing wall and game truck.
This event served as a great opportunity for veterans who use the VA to learn more about the services they have earned.
"I think it's very important that we do this to honor our veterans because they've served and had some hardships and been to places other people won't go to take care of our country and to secure our country and I think it's the greatest thing and we should be celebrating it," said 20 year Army Veteran, David Crabtree.
Crabtree went on to say it's important to let the veterans get together and celebrate and remember what they've done for their country.
