POTTER COUNTY, TEXAS -- An Amarillo woman was killed early Wednesday morning on I-40 while she was driving the wrong way, police said.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, Candace N. Goucher, 23, was driving a 2003 Honda Civic on I-40. DPS said she was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes at around 3:15 a.m.

A 2012 International truck tractor semi-trailer then hit Goucher head on, police said.

Goucher was pronounced dead on scene. She was wearing her seat belt, DPS said.
