Chances are, you or someone you know use a social media site.
A new report by the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project shows that 95 percent of all teens age 12-17 are online, and 80 percent of those use social media sites.
It's a way for people to keep up with their friends and family, but it also makes it easier for kids to bully each other.
The Teens, kindness and cruelty on social networking sites report focused on the types of experiences that teens on those sites, and how they react when they see or experience negative behavior.
More than 80 percent of those surveyed who use social media sites say they've witnessed people being mean online, and a quarter of them had an online interaction that later turned into a face-to-face confrontation.
At the same time, a majority of the teens reported having an online interaction that made them feel good about themselves.
