AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas is hoping there won't be a new sheriff in town.
He announced tonight he will run for re-election.
He says he has enjoyed the last three years, and feels his department has accomplished a lot.
He says he's worked hard to get potter county back on top, and he only needs to tweak a few things to make it the best department in the state.
"I'm enjoying what I do, I enjoy working with the family that I work with and it was just something I want to continue what we've started and I don't feel like my mission has been completed."
Thomas says he knows it will be time to hang it up when he wakes up and doesn't want to go to work anymore, and that isn't true right now.
