An Amarillo private school is asking for your help in helping it win a $50,000 grant contest.
Hands on Achievement Therapeutic Learning Program, a school for children with autism, developmental disabilities and peer students without delays is involved in the Power a Bright Future Grant Program.
The grant program, sponsored by Clorox, helps schools access technology. If Hands on Achievement receives the grant, it would be able to purchase much needed iPads, computers and sensory materials for its students.
"These things are very beneficial for our special needs kids and we could really use your help," a release from the school said.
Hands on Achievement was established specifically for students who were not developing or not thriving in a public school. It is supported by a small tuition from the students' families who can afford to pay, the school said.
The program is the only therapeutic private program in the area.
Four $25,000 grants will be awarded along with a $50,000 grant.
