CURRY COUNTY, NM -- The Curry County Jail is still having issues.

Last week, 35-year-old Narcizo Soto escaped.

As a result, the sergeant on duty was terminated, and now, four other officers are also being recommended for termination.

All four are on administrative leave and have been removed from the facility.

"Based on county policy the employees will have a hearing with five to 10 days and based on that hearing a determination will be rendered regarding the intent to terminate," said Curry County Manager Lance Pyle.

Soto escaped, because he was allowed to work with the floor crew when he wasn't supposed to.

He got that access, because he told one of the detention officers that he was supposed to be working there.
