AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It's a problem children across our area face every single day, living and going to school without access to proper hygiene products.
That's where the ASID Basic Needs Program has stepped up, gathering and providing children with products like shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Tuesday, the program met with some of it's helpful partners like McDonald's, Area Girl Scouts, Haunted Houses, Blackmon Mooring, The Back Porch Restaurants and the Tri-State Fair, to say "thank you".
"It is the business people and just the personal people in town that have stepped up and they're making a difference in the lives of these children," said Director of Safe Schools Healthy Students, Melynn Huntley. "They're going to learn better, they're going to socially fill in better and really all the way around it helps that child."
