Head-on crash leaves man with life-threaning injuries

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 53-year-old man was taken to a local hospital after he sustained life-threatening injuries from a head-on crash Friday morning.

Amarillo Police said a 1994 Chevy pickup struck a 2007 Chevy pickup head-on in the 500 block of North Mirror at about 9:40 Friday morning. The 2007 Chevy was traveling southbound, police said.

The driver of the 1994 Chevy was identified as Casimer Drezek, 53. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver and a passenger of the 2007 pickup were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation.
