AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Eveline Rivers Coat Drive has served thousands of people over the years by providing winter coats to families in need.

All of us here at Channel 7 have been helping her by serving as a collection point for her Christmas project, and Tuesday we delivered more of those coats.

Eveline told us she wanted to give a special thank you to KVII for its assistance in keeping families warm.

"Channel 7 has been there for us, they've been there to not only collect coats and help us with having coats to distribute to our families, they've been there in a pinch when we need to go to somebody and say please put this in the media so we know you can help us, so in that instance what I'm trying to say is you've been a tremendous helping hand and continue to be that all through the years."

There's no way we could have done it without the coats you brought to us downtown.

Eveline says while Tuesday was the last day of the year to drop off or pick up coats, her doors will re-open in January to help anyone who needs a coat.
