The New Mexico Department of Transportation has closed I-40 westbound from Tucumcari to the Torrance County line.The roadway is snow packed and icy, and there's poor visibility due to blowing snow.

Motorist should seek an alternate route and accommodations.

In fact, Texas Department of Transportation has been informed by state officials that there are no motel rooms available in Tucumcari.

Travelers should try to stay in Amarillo or other Panhandle cities.

NM 102 is closed from mile marker 0 to mile marker 46 because snow drifts.

Crews are plowing, salting, and cindering.

NM 120 is closed 8 miles East of Roy to Junction U.S. 56 because of snow packed and icy roadways with snow drifts. Crews are plowing, salting, and cindering.

US 64/87 is closed from Raton to Clayton because of snow and ice. Motorists are to seek an alternate route and accommodations.

NM 72 is closed from Raton to Folsom because of major snow drifts. Crews are plowing, salting, and cindering. Drivers should reduce speed and obey all posted traffic signs.
