AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Some returning area veterans who need help re-adjusting to life here at home will soon have a new place to call "home" after a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday.
Another Chance House is building a new complex, Victory Duplexes, comprised of seven duplexes to house the vets. That means 14 veterans will be able to live there and work through any problems, thanks to the generosity of the Panhandle.
"We want to thank Amarillo for getting involved--for showing care and concern for those struggling with mental illnesses and addictions," said Resident Manager of Another Chance House, Bobby Nixon. "One of our first Iraqi war vets is based in the program and with more and more troops being brought to the states, the need is going to grow and grow very quickly."
No word on when the final complex will be completed.
