OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Mock elections are being held across Oklahoma this week to test the state's new voting machines.
The mock elections began Monday at each of the state's 77 county election board offices and will continue through Thursday.
State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax told The Oklahoman that the new machines are similar to the old machines. He says the biggest change is that instead of connecting an arrow next to a candidate's name - the voter will now fill in a box.
All residents are eligible to take part in the mock election whether they're registered to vote or not. The names of Oklahoma personalities are on the ballots.
The new machines will be used officially for the first time in the Feb. 14 school elections.
