AMARILLO, TEXAS -- You don't have to go far to catch some fish.

In fact, Medi-Park Lake has just been freshly re-stocked. It was filled Thursday afternoon with hundreds of Rainbow Trout.

It's all part of a program called Neighborhood Fishin'. The restocking is funded, in part, by Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas cities.

Durin the winter, it's stocked every two weeks with Rainbow Trout.

"We just finished stocking Rainbow Trout and it's part of our 'Neighborhood Fishin'' program and we do this every two weeks in the winter from early December until early March," said John Clayton with Texas Parks and Wildlife.

The program is designed to give people in urban areas a place to catch some fish within their own city limits.

"This program is specifically designed to provide urban Texans who live within cities to have an opportunity to go fishing where they otherwise would not have an opportunity," Clayton said. "Our program is really geared toward trying to get families to come out.
