CARSON COUNTY, TEXAS -- A father and son from California were arrested late last week after Troopers uncovered more than $1 million in cocaine from their vehicle.

Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Aaron Lagarretta, 18, and Alexander Lagarreta, 43, both of Madera, Calif., on Friday evening for possession of a controlled substance.

DPS said the father-son duo were pulled over on Interstate 40 two miles west of Conway. Consent to search the vehicle was granted and 15,209 grams of cocaine was found, police said.

The cocaine was valued at $1,110,257.00. It was found inside a compartment built into the rear floor of the vehicle, a 2007 Pontiac passenger car.

According to DPS, the cocaine was being transported from El Paso to Chicago.
