AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 33-year-old Amarillo man is now behind bars for aggravated robbery of an Amarillo convenience store.

Daniel Paul Harrison, 33, was arrested early Wednesday morning for allegedly robbing the Toot-N-Totum at 2700 Interstate 40 West.

Police were dispatched to the store at about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. Police said a man entered the store and produced a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect, later identified as Harrison, left the store with the money and headed to a nearby apartment complex. One of the employees got into his car and followed the suspect.

Police were able to spot Harrison at an apartment building in the 1500 block of South Kentucky. He stopped running and put his hands up, police said.

Officers uncovered a pellet pistol that appeared as an actual handgun.

No injuries were reported in this robbery.
