$45 million in drugs seized in Amarillo District last year

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The numbers are in and more than $45 million worth of drugs were seized in the Amarillo District last year.

Texas Department of Public Safety said the Texas Highway Patrol in the Amarillo District seized 7,011 pounds of marijuana, 685 pounds of cocaine, 92 pounds of methamphetamines, 55,991 grams of codeine and 52,956 grams of heroin.

The total drug value was listed at $45,733,060.

$4,169,638 was seized in U.S. Currency, DPS said.
