3 men killed when vehicles collide

WHEELER, TEXAS -- An accident in Wheeler County Saturday night has killed three people.

The accident happened at 8:09 p.m.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2007 Silver Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south bound on FM 453 approximately a quarter mile south of County Road X, when it crossed the center stripe into the north bound lane.

A second vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, was traveling north bound at the same time and attempted to evade the Silverado, but the vehicles hit each other.

25-year old Brody Michael Lockeby, 43-year old Randy Allen Tolbert, both from Shamrock were in the Silverado.

DPS Troopers say neither men were wearing their seat belts and died at the scene.

The driver of the Tahoe, 36-year old Christopher Ryan Sanders of Lubbock was wearing a seat belt. He also died at the scene.
