CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A fire inside a Clovis apartment complex has left several families homeless. Fire department officials tell the Clovis News Journal that everyone made it out safely Wednesday morning.

The apartment manager says she went door to all 12 apartments to make sure everyone was out. Fire crews also checked every apartment when they arrived.

The fire apparently started on the second floor of the complex.

Investigators have not released the cause.
