AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police are investigating a weekend wreck where a man slammed into a tree.
According to police, a 1991 Chevy 1500, driven by Julian Salvador Jimenez, 24, could not control its speed and slammed into a tree. The collision happened Sunday morning just before 2 in the 2900 block of Ridgemore Blvd.
Jimenez was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening conditions. Since the wreck, police said his injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.
Police said it appears alcohol and speed were factors in the collision.
This wreck is being investigated by the Traffic Investigations Unit of Amarillo Police.
