Armed man orders store customers to the floor during robbery

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An armed man entered and Amarillo store Monday evening and ordered its customers to the floor during a robbery.

Amarillo Police said Wacky Shack Wireless, located in the 3100 block of South Western was robbed while two customers were in the store at about 6:40 p.m. Monday.

The employee, according to police, said two black makes, both with a slim build about 5'10" to 6' tall entered the store. They were described as wearing navy blue ski masks, blue latex gloves and blue hooded sweatshirts.

Police said the taller of the suspects ordered three people in the store to the floor. He also said he would shoot them if they did not do what they were told, police said.

The man came behind the counter, pointed the shotgun at the employee and asked where the money was, police said. The other suspect, according to police, started tying the witnesses' hands together with duct tape, police said.

According to police, the armed suspect then took the money from the cash register. After the victim's wrists were tied together with duct tape, both suspects fled.

Investigators are still working to determine if this robbery is connected with the armed robbery at Rags II Riches because of the similar suspects.
