CLOVIS, N.M. -- Hillcrest Park Zoo in Clovis is enjoying a new addition to its animal family, a baby giraffe!

The little girl (or should we say big girl) will only be two weeks old on Wednesday and she's already more than six feet tall and weighs more than 120 pounds! With around-the-clock attention, she's healthy and growing but right now, she's nameless! To help change that, Clovis is having a citywide baby naming contest to help choose the perfect name for their new giraffe.

Clovis residents can enter than naming contest by sending their favorite giraffe name to Hillcrest Park Zoo or  Parks and Recreation, P.O. 760 Clovis, N.M. 88101.

"We're going to build a shoot from this back barn to her area to kind of get them used to each other and let the public view her when it starts to warm up," said Hillcrest Park Zoo Director, Vince Ramero. "She doesn't come out until about 55-60 degrees, we'll let here outside, stretch her legs. But she's doing good and we're really blessed to have her here at our zoo."

Clovis residents can submit baby names through Monday, Feb. 29.
