CANYON, TEXAS -- The Texas A&M System Board of Regents has approved a new lower non-resident tuition rate and guidelines for 2013.
That will lower rates for students who live within 100 miles of the Texas border.
Right now, WT will be one of the only schools in the state that will be allowed to give this out-of-state rate to its students.
"I think it's going to help a lot. we do our very best to recruit as many students as we can from the Texas Panhandle and from the state of Texas, but we have room for growth and so we're seeking to expand out enrollment from other states," said WT Enrollment Management VP, Dan Garcia.
Garcia says the change means those students will pay around $900 dollars a year more than a Texas resident, but will pay an average of $1,000 less than they would be paying in their own state.
