AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Update Friday 10a
Officials are now releasing the identity of those arrested Thursday afternoon.
Tyrone Dametrick Byers, 32, formerly of Amarillo was arrested on an Armed Robbery warrant, Possession of Maijuana and Tampering with Evidence.
The driver of the vehicle, a Suburban, was arrested for Evading in a Motor Vehicle and two municipal traffic warrants. He was identified as Ronal Eugene Jones, 41.
A third occupant was released.
$5,000 was recovered in cash from different individuals and a residence on Rogers.
Police said a robbery that happened on Feb. 8 remains under investigation. The robbery was at a bank in Melville, La.
Three people are now behind bars after leading Amarillo Police on a low-speed chase Thursday afternoon.
During the chase, it is believed that something was thrown out the window. Police said marijuana along with other paraphernalia was found.
Police confirmed to Pronews 7 that officers received information about an individual who was possibly wanted out of Louisiana on Wednesday evening. The information was passed along to COPPS.
Officers then spotted the wanted vehicle in the 1900 block of Rogers just after 1 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then slowed its speed to about 30-40 mph after marked units put their lights on on Interstate-40.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for evading arrest. The front passenger was arrested for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and the back seat passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Louisiana.
The suspects' identities have not yet been released.
