ORLANDO, FLA. -- Millions of fans voted in Saturday night's NBA Slam Dunk Contest as players soared through the air in creative style.
Utah Jazz's "Human Pogo Stick" Jeremy Evans came out on top, earning 29 percent of the total votes when he slammed two basketballs while jumping over an assistant. Oh, and he also wore a camera on his head for one shot and then he dunked over Comedian Kevin Hart.
Evans won the Jazz's first-ever trophy for the event, beating out Houston's Chase Budinger, Indiana's Paul George and Minnesota's Derrick Williams.
Budinger heard his fair share of cheers from the crowd, and then some sighs when the winner was announced. Budinger's hot moment of the night was when he donned a Cedric Ceballos jersey and imitated his 1992 blindfolded dunk, which he completed with a reverse slam.
To give the competition a twist, fans were given complete voting power. They cast their votes via text message after the four contestants completed their rounds.
Celebrities Mary J. Blige and P. Diddy were in attendance.
Still, many fans seemed none to thrilled about the winner and the performances given. Sports blogs all over the country blew up with people complaining the event has been dead for years.
