Amarillo transient's foot severed by train

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police are investigating the incident that left an Amarillo transient having her foot severed by a train Tuesday evening.

The 47-year-old woman, described as a transient, was injured on the train tracks near First and Hughes, police said.

According to police, the train severed the woman's foot just above her left ankle.

The incident is now being investigated as a trespassing violation.
