DUMAS, TEXAS -- A Moore County man was sentenced in a district court Wednesday to 45 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for murdering his wife.
Alan Ray Kuykendall, 47, was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
According to David Green, 69th District Attorney, Kuykendall pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife, Amie Kuykendall.
It was Jan. 14, 2012 when authorities said the couple were involved in a domestic dispute that escalated out of control. Kuykendall had been drinking and retrieved a 38 caliber revolver, police said. That's when, according to authorities, Kuykendal shot his wife.
Kuykendall will now be turned over to the Texas prison system.
