AMARILLO, TEXAS -- More than 1,000 students will be performing at the Amarillo Civic Center over the next couple of days in major competition, according to event director, Cody Myers.
The students are part of the UIL Orchestra Competition where they perform three pre-selected pieces and a sight reading competition with music they've never seen before.
For these students, according to Myers, this is basically the equivalence of standardized testing... as they compete against each other in the biggest event of the year.
By the way there's no charge for admission and the public is invited to attend.
