As technology evolves, many of us change cell phones as often as we change clothes.
So, what do you do with your old cell phone? It could save a life, right here in the Panhandle.
According to Family Support Services, they treated more than 500 domestic violence clients last year. Your old cell phone could help one of these women.
"These phones are capable of dialing 911, so that does give our victims extra assurance when they're out and about," said Terri Barker, the director of crises services. "Many of them don't have their own phones but they do have access to safety and 911 at anytime in an emergency when they need it."
If you would like to donate an old phone you can drop it off at Family Support Services offices.
Their office is located downtown off Taylor between 11th and 10th.
