AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A man has been killed in a two-vehicle accident that happened Saturday just after noon.

Amarillo Police say they were called to 2005 St. Francis (Loop 335) at 12:01 p.m., on a vehicle accident between a 1999 Ford Expedition and semi.

Upon arrival, police say they found the driver of the Expedition, 60-year old Walter Perky, had passed away.

The driver of the semi, 43-year old Gary Dean Cardeccia and his passenger 41-year old Shannon Adams were not injured in the accident.

Police say Perky was driving his vehicle east bound on St. Francis, when it began to drift into oncoming west bound traffic. That's when the Expedition struck the left back quarter panel of the semi.

Police say Perky was not wearing his seat belt. Speed or alcohol are not factors in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
