ERICK, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has released the name of one of the two people killed in a 15-vehicle pileup that involved 10 tractor-trailer rigs and shut down Interstate 40 in western Oklahoma for 14-and-a-half hours.
The patrol says 33-year-old Carlos Desantiago of Juarez, Mexico, was killed in the crash near the Oklahoma-Texas state line about five miles west of Erick. The name of the second victim of Saturday's crash had not been released by Monday morning.
Four other people were hospitalized - including one in critical condition. Thirteen people were either not injured or were treated and released.
The OHP says investigators had not determined the cause of the crash - but notes that the area was covered by a heavy fog at the time of the collision.
