Teenager arrested after taking pot during home burglary

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 17-year-old teenager was booked into the Potter County Jail this weekend after Amarillo Police said he burglarized a home, stealing marijuana.

Cordrey Torres, 17, is charged with Burglary of a Habitation along with Possession of Marijuana in a drug-free zone.

Police said they were called to a home in the 800 block of Virginia on Saturday just after 9 p.m. on a call of burglary in progress.

Toress was seen by witnesses fleeing the scene.

Officers were able to catch him behind a store a short time later. Police said nearly a pound of marijuana was found in his possession.
