McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - No injuries or damage were reported from this morning's earthquake in eastern Oklahoma. The 4.0-magnitude quake struck around 2:30 a.m. and was centered about 16 miles south-southwest of McAlester. Residents more than 100 miles to the north in Tulsa felt the tremors.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Federal Trade Commission is suing two Oklahoma tribes, claiming their payday loan companies are operating illegally. The federal government wants a judge to issue an injunction. The payday loan firms are operated by the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and the Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma.
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) - A Sperry man is being held on bail after he was charged with a fatal November traffic accident that killed a worker in a construction zone. Nineteen-year-old Deven Franklin is being held on $250,000 after yesterday's court appearance. He's charged with first-degree manslaughter.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A judge in Pittsburg County is set to unseal a multicounty grand jury indictment today. A second indictment will be unsealed Thursday in Oklahoma County. Details about each case haven't been released.
