Update Thursday 3p
The Potter County Sheriff's Office confirmed that it has launched an investigation into the allegations of the River Road ISD employee's inappropriate relationship with a student

First reported
An employee of River Road ISD has been placed on administrative leave after being accused of having inappropriate relations with a student.

Neither the employee's name or title is being released, citing privacy issues.

District officials were informed on Monday evening that one of its employees may have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student, Assistant Superintendent Gayle Lynn Dampf said in a statment.

A preliminary investigation was launched by the district and the employee was placed on paid administrative leave, Dampf said.

The Potter County Sheriff's Office said no law enforcement agencies have been notified about the case as of Wednesday.

The district said it has taken all steps to ensure the safety of its students.

This is the second such incident in the last week across the Panhandle. A teacher's aide from Childress was arrested last Wednesday on charges of having a relationship with a student
