AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo man was arrested after police said he fired a weapon from a vehicle.
Police said officers were called to the area of Amarillo Boulevard and Mirror Saturday evening just after 9:00. Several witnesses told police the driver of a black 2003 Hummer had pointed a pistol out the sunroof and began firing about eight rounds into the air.
One of the witnesses told police they believed they knew the identity of the driver. Police were able to locate the vehicle a short time later near 11th and Grand.
The vehicle was searched and police said they found a spent casing and a 40 caliber semi automatic pistol in the center console.
Cesar Ivan Cruz-Medina, 24, the driver, was arrested for Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits. A passenger, 21-year-old Leslie Burgos was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
