SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is heading to New Mexico next week to raise money for Republican Gov. Susana Martinez and the state GOP.

Martinez political adviser Jay McCleskey said Tuesday that Jindal is the featured guest at a fundraiser on April 27 in Albuquerque for Martinez's re-election campaign.

That event is to take place before Jindal appears at a fundraising luncheon for the New Mexico Republican Party.

McCleskey said Martinez and Jindal serve together on the executive committee of the Republican Governors Association, which was the largest contributor to Martinez's gubernatorial campaign.

Jindal was elected in 2007, becoming the first Indian-American governor in the United States. He was re-elected last year.

Martinez made history in 2010 as the first Hispanic woman to be elected a state's chief executive.
